India omit struggling Sehwag

India have dropped Virender Sehwag for the first three one-day internationals against England but MS Dhoni remains as captain and Gautam Gambhir keeps his place.

India are in a state of flux and, after losing to England in the recent Test series, they have come under more criticism after losing 2-1 to Pakistan in a one-day series.

Cheteshwar Pujara, who scored an unbeaten 206 in India's first Test victory against England, has been added to the squad while Sehwag misses out.

Sehwag averaged less than 22 with the bat in one-day international cricket last year, significantly lower than his career figure of slightly over 35 from 251 games.

The 34-year-old was left out of the India side for Sunday's third and final one-day match against Pakistan and has now been omitted for the matches against England in Rajkot, Kochi and Ranchi.

Ravinchandran Ashwin and Amit Mishra remain as the frontline spinners, with veteran Harbhajan Singh once again missing out.

India are 1/7 to win the series on home soil, with England 9/2 to win a one-day series in India for the first time since 1984/85.
