Draws continue to trouble Moyes

Everton have been told they need to be more ruthless if they want to remain in the mix for Champions League qualification.

David Moyes' side are still in a prime spot to secure a top-four finish this term. They are currently sat in fifth place, just three points behind Tottenham Hotspur.

These draws could cost us if we don't turn them into wins. We need to play a bit better and maybe be a bit more clever in the final third.

Everton are 150/1 to finish in the top four this season while Spurs are available at 21/10 and Liverpool at 300/1.

This weekend could certainly prove to be to the Toffees' advantage with Spurs facing leaders Manchester United, and Chelsea taking on Arsenal.

And Everton will know exactly where they stand in the grander scheme of things as they do not play until Monday when they take on Southampton, 100/1 to be relegated this term.

But the Merseysiders are becoming increasingly concerned by picking up ten draws so far and the amount of points they have failed to convert, despite only losing three times this campaign.

Moyes is trying to bring in a couple of new faces on loan during this transfer window but is under no illusions that his current personnel need to recognise their own shortcomings.

The Everton boss insists: "These draws could cost us if we don't turn them into wins. We need to play a bit better and maybe be a bit more clever in the final third."
