Warwickshire's director of cricket Ashley Giles has warned England to treat Olly Stone carefully as he prepares for international cricket.
The fast bowler has been included in the England squad for next month's ODI series in Sri Lanka.
I think if you're expecting Olly to play every day and be at it, he'll break down.Ashley Giles
Stone has been regarded as one of the quickest bowlers in domestic cricket this season, getting 34 wickets at 11 apiece.
However, the bowler suffered a serious knee injury in 2016 and has had niggling injuries since. Giles says that his international call-up is well timed and well deserved, but does hope that he is not overworked in Sri Lanka.
He said on news of the call-up: "They've timed it right but they still need to manage him really carefully.
"You have to manage him with kid gloves. I think if you're expecting Olly to play every day and be at it, he'll break down. He's a Ferrari."
As well as his 34 wickets in the County Championship, Stone has also demonstrated his white ball credentials, capturing 12 wickets at 28.16 in the One-Day Cup.
Also in the England squad for the series is Sam Curran who impressed in the recent Test series win over India.
He comes into the squad in place of David Willey who is out with a back injury while Stone's inclusion comes after news that Liam Plunkett will miss the first three games of the series in Sri Lanka due to his wedding, though he plans to be available for games four and five.
England are 1.40 to win the first ODI with Sri Lanka 3.00.
The five-match ODI series begins in Dambulla on 10th October. It is followed by a T20 international between the sides and then a three-Test series throughout November.
England are 1.40 to win the ODI series and they are 6.50 to win it 5-0.
