G2 scoop top organisation prize
G2 Esports were named Organisation of the Year at the 2020 Esports Awards on Saturday.
The Berlin-based organisation, who were founded as Gamers2 back in February 2014, picked up one of the night's most prestigious awards after their teams enjoyed strong years in Counter Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends.
G2 have returned to elite status in CS:GO this year while they were also dominant in the LOL European Championships, winning both the Spring and Summer Splits, beating Fnatic 3-0 in both finals.
They also enjoyed a great year in Rocket League and the organisation saw their CEO Carlos "ocelote" Rodriguez Santiagos pick up the Personality of the Year award.
Team Secret, who have impressed in regional events in Dota 2 this year, were awarded Team of the Year while Riot Games were named Publisher of the Year and LOL received the Game of the Year accolade.
Additionally the LOL European Championship content team won the Esports Content of the Year award and the game's season opening collected the Esports Creative Piece of the Year.
On Twitter the LIVE - Esports Awards 2020 Presented by Lexus account posted: "The winner of the Esports Organisation of the Year is @G2esports after an incredible year across all of esports there truly could only be one winner. Huge congratulations!"
On the same platform, the G2 Esports account added: "Huge thanks from everyone at G2, we love all of you."
Meanwhile, Team Spirit are 2.00 to beat Virtus Pro, who are 1.72 to win in the CS:GO BLAST Premier Fall.
