New signing Stefan Mauk is looking forward to being part of an attacking line-up at Brisbane Roar.
The former Olyroo is about to start his first season with John Aloisi's club, after signing a four-year deal.
Brisbane are renowned as an attacking team and Mauk feels that will be even more the case in the new campaign.
Their goals tally from last season was disappointing, with 33 from their 27 games which was only just over half the total of Premier's Plate winners Sydney FC.
Mauk says Aloisi is intent on taking his attacking game to the next level.
"It's going to be an attacking brand of football, which suits me, and was one of the reasons I made the move to Brisbane," added the 23-year-old, who joined from Dutch side NEC.
"The biggest thing [to focus on] was working on scoring more goals - that's something we've worked on over pre-season - getting into good positions and becoming a complete player."
Mauk believes the Roar's gruelling pre-season - they were the first A-League team to come back from their break - has him in career-best shape going into the new campaign.
"I'm the fittest I've ever been and that's the same for quite a few of the boys. We can't wait to get out there on Sunday," he said.
Mauk played alongside Ross McCormack while he was on loan at Melbourne City last season and the Scotland international will be in opposition when Brisbane kick off their season against Central Coast.
The Roar will need to be tight on the Aston Villa loanee and be wary of his ability with the dead ball, he said.
The Roar are 1.95 to win their first game of the season against Central Coast, who are 3.75 with the draw 3.75.
