Fulham midfielder Josh Onomah says he and his teammates can draw confidence from beating Cardiff two weeks ago ahead of their Championship play-off clash.

The Whites ran out comfortable 2-0 winners at Craven Cottage on 11th July thanks to goals from Onomah and Serbian hitman Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Scott Parker's men narrowly missed out on automatic promotion on the final day of the campaign but have designs on an immediate return to the Premier League.

To have played Cardiff recently and won, I think we'll take huge confidence.

Fulham finished fourth in the Championship table, two points adrift of West Brom, and are joined in the play-offs by Cardiff, Brentford and Swansea.

Onomah has represented England at youth level and signed for the Cottagers from Tottenham at the start of the campaign.

The 23-year-old hopes that Fulham can replicate their recent display against the Bluebirds, believing it is a result that can give them plenty of belief heading into Monday's opening leg.

"We can take a huge boost from beating them a couple of weeks ago," Onomah told the club website. "We played well, got a couple of goals and a clean sheet as well.

"Our mentality is definitely good going into these games. We're looking forward to what we're hoping is three more matches."

Onomah added: "We know it's going to be a challenge, but to have played Cardiff recently and won, I think we'll take huge confidence from that."

Fulham are 2.70 to win the first leg of their Championship play-off tie with 2.90 shots Cardiff. The draw is available to back at 2.95.

Brentford are 1.53 to be promoted with Fulham at 2.50. Cardiff are 41.00 while their Welsh rivals Swansea are 4.50 to go up.
