Lingard aims to carry on scoring
Jesse Lingard has revealed before Manchester United's FA Cup fifth-round clash at Huddersfield Town that he is close to reaching the goal target he set himself this season.
Lingard has netted in each of the previous rounds - against Yeovil Town and Derby County - and is 3.00 to score at any time against the Terriers, 2.37 to be relegated from the Premier League this season.
He has already scored 12 goals in all competitions this season, and told United's official website: "It's a private target and I'm close. But there are plenty more games to go before the end of the season.
"My main objective this season is to score more goals and I have been doing that, so hopefully that can carry on into the cup."
Huddersfield beat Jose Mourinho's team 2-1 in the Premier League in October and are 19.00 to beat United by the same scoreline on Saturday.
Lingard added: "We've played against them at their stadium already this season and we've seen what the atmosphere is like and how aggressive they are.
"We dealt with the aggression last time we played them so I don't see why we can't deal with it this time out."
