Villarreal land Watford defender
La Liga outfit Villarreal have signed defender Pervis Estupinan from Watford in a deal worth around £15million.
Ecuadorian left-back Estupinan has been at Watford since 2016 but did not make a single first-team appearance for the club, instead spending loan spells at Granada, Almeria, Mallorca and Osasuna.
And the 22-year-old is set to return to Spain with the Yellow Submarine, who finished fifth in La Liga last term and have already added the likes of midfielders Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin to their ranks this summer.
Estupinan leaves Watford following their great start to the Championship season as they overcame Middlesbrough 1-0 at Vicarage Road before beating Oxford United on penalties in the second round of the EFL Cup.
The results have been a great way for new coach Vladimir Ivic to start his tenure with the Hornets and the club's chairman and CEO has spoken about the departure of Estupinan, insisting only players committed to the club will be kept on this season.
Scott Duxbury said: "As [Head Coach] Vladimir has said repeatedly over the past week or so, having a squad of players 100 per cent committed to our challenge is imperative.
"Continued player trading - incoming as well as outgoing - is inevitable over the course of the next month or so.
"But that doesn't mean our focus will be distracted. Building a fully committed squad of players is of the utmost importance."
Watford are 3.10 to beat Sheffield Wednesday, who are 2.40 to win, with the draw 3.20 in the Championship.
Villarreal are 6.00 to finish in the top four in La Liga this season.
