Arteta not giving up on top four finish
Mikel Arteta has described Arsenal's 2-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League as one of his best results at the club but conceded they have "no margin for error" in their pursuit of a Champions League spot.
For the first time since 2017, Arsenal managed to win a third successive Premier League game without conceding a goal, overcoming Wolves thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, who signed a new long-term deal this week, and Alexandre Lacazette.
Two weeks ago it was impossible - we have to compete with this intensity and make it hard for them.Mikel Arteta
The Gunners had plenty of possession in the first half and did little with it until Saka struck a sublime left-foot volley, his first ever Premier League goal, just before the break.
Despite a scare in the opening minutes from Adama Traore, Arsenal kept Wolves at bay with a solid defensive performance and substitutes Joe Willock and Lacazette combined with four minutes remaining to seal the win.
The victory puts Arsenal only three points off the top six and six points adrift of a Champions League place, which they are 1001.00 to secure with games against Leicester, Tottenham and Liverpool to come in their next three league fixtures.
Speaking after the game, Arteta said: "It was one of my best results because of the schedule we've had - and because of how well they have done.
"The more solid we are the better the chance we will have to win football matches - it all comes down to all 11 players defending."
Asked about Arsenal's chances of making the top four, he added: "We have no margin for error. Two weeks ago it was impossible - we have to compete with this intensity and make it hard for them, we will wait and see."
Meanwhile, Arsenal are 2.20 to beat Leicester, who are 3.20 to win, with the draw 3.50 in the Premier League encounter.
