And, while the Euro 2016 winner has been training hard to be ready for his new club, he accepts that he needs to be involved in games to get full back on track.
He told the club's official website: "It's been very frustrating, but now the difficult times are past me and now I'm very happy to be close to my goal.
"It's been very important to keep training because it's a long time not playing and, of course, I can work and train more than normal, but there is nothing better than the game.
"I will be in good shape because I have worked a lot - I have confidence in that - but I have to play games to get better.
"You have to keep a positive mentality and that's what I've tried to do. I've kept my mind focused on my job and what I love to do."
Silva, who has won 20 senior caps to date, will be involved when the Foxes play host to Huddersfield Town on New Year's Day.
The Foxes lie in eighth place in the Premier League table heading into the first round of games of 2018 and are 1.005 to secure a finish in the top half of the table come the end of the season.
Everton are available at 1.00, while Burnley are priced at 1.00.
