Trainer Simon Zahra has high hopes for Light Romance after the filly came with a strong finish to win the Ladbrokes Cash In Handicap (1300m) at Sandown.

Favourite Twitchy Frank looked to have the race in the bag, but Light Romance, who had been given a freshen by the stable, finished strongly to take the win.

"She's been in a fair while so we gave her a little freshen up after she finished third at Moonee Valley last start," Zahra said.

"We'll see how she comes through this before we decide to tip her out or giver her another race."

Zahra said the stable had anticipated Ben Thompson being able to give Light Romance the ideal run following the barrier draw, and that turned out to be the case.

"There looked plenty of speed on paper and she looked like she was drawn to get the run of the race," Zahra added.

"She's still working it all out and it took her a little while to work it out but it all went to plan."

Light Romance is also trained by Mathew Ellerton and Zahra says the stable have high hopes for her.

"I think in time she will make a nice filly," Zahra said. "She's always shown us something but taken a little while to strengthen in the body and the mind but she keeps improving.

"We've given her plenty of time, we know the family well and you just have to be patient with them."

Meanwhile, Age Of Fire is 2.75 to win the Levin Classic. Savvy Coup is 7.00 while Ever Loyal is available at 1000.00.
