Butt braced for Cash N Flow test
Trainer Tim Butt admits My Field Marshall will need a lot to go his way if he is to make a winning return to action on Saturday night.
My Field Marshall has not raced since his unplaced effort at Menangle last May, and returns to the venue looking to cause a big upset when he takes on Cash N Flow.
Cash N Flow is in sparkling form, winning his last 11 starts, and Butt admits it is unlikely his charge will be able to bring such a winning streak to a halt this weekend.
My Field Marshall has also not been helped by the fact he has more work to do after being drawn wide in gate 10.
Butt is refusing to rule out a boilover, but accepts his charge needs some luck, and then some, if he is to defeat Cash N Flow.
"We all know anything can happen in racing, but I can’t see Marshal beating Cash N Flow," Butt said ahead of the race.
"He’ll be out there doing his best, but there are a few elements against him. Along with the draw, the large field, the way the race will be run and him being first-up for four months all come into it.
"We’ll just have to hope for luck on the night and see how it goes."
Cash N Flow has six sub 1:50 runs under his belt, and stopped the clock in 1:49.9 when cruising to victory in his last start two weeks ago.
Connections have kept the son of Mach Three fresh since that win and will be expecting another bold showing on Saturday.
