Arc possibility for Love after brilliant Oaks win
Love is being tipped to become Enable's biggest challenger for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe following her explosive nine-length demolition in the Investec Oaks on Saturday.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained filly powered clear of nearest challenger, and stablemate, Ennistymon with a highly impressive performance to become one of the leading names in the middle distance division.
But, having won the 1,000 Guineas earlier this year, connections could be tempted to go for the St Leger and become the first winner of the fillies' Triple Crown in 35 years. The Irish Oaks at the Curragh on July 18 will be her next target.
"Love is very special," said O'Brien, having trained his eighth Oaks winner. "It is very hard to say you would ever have a better filly than her; we saw what she did in the Guineas.
"You would have to think about the Arc in the autumn. We know what three-year-old fillies can do in the Arc. We would definitely have to think about it. I guess it will all depend on how she comes out of today and whether she has a midsummer break now or gets in another run and has a break after that, but the Arc has to be a definite possibility.
"The St Leger comes three weeks or a month before the Arc, so would it be too tough for a filly to do that and then go on to the Arc? I don't know, but I suppose we will see how she trains and what the lads want to do."
Two-time Arc winner Enable, who makes her seasonal return in the Eclipse at Sandown on Sunday, 3.50.
Surprise Derby winner Serpentine was introduced to the Arc betting at 13.00 following his frontrunning win at Epsom.
Kameko, who disappointed in finishing fourth in The Derby, is 21.00, while English King is 26.00.
