Tigers pull off Nofoaluma coup
Wests Tigers have pulled off a huge coup by getting star winger David Nofoaluma tied down to a new four-year deal.
The Tigers have been locked in negotiations with the player over the last few months, but now the supporters can breathe a sigh of relief after a long-term deal was announced.
Speculation had linked the 27-year-old with both South Sydney and Parramatta, but there is only one place the speedster wanted to be, and the deal will take him through until the end of 2025.
"This really is the only club for me, and I'm really pleased to be staying on at Wests Tigers," Nofoaluma said after the new deal was announced.
"I'm determined to ensure our members and fans are rewarded with the success they deserve, and I can't wait to help play my part in making that happen."
Tigers coach Michael Maguire has also saluted the move. Under his leadership, Wests have big plans for the future, and Maguire says Nofoaluma is a crucial piece in the jigsaw.
"I'm really pleased to see David continue his time with Wests Tigers," Maguire added.
"He has worked extremely hard at his game to continue to improve not only himself but the team as a whole and has grown into one of the senior players.
"David has a tremendous love for the club but, more importantly, has a determined desire for it to be successful and continues to work extremely hard to make that happen.
"I'm really looking forward to watching him continue to improve over the coming years and play a leading role in the success of this club moving forward."
Wests are priced at 34.00 to win the NRL grand final.
