Gale keen to make amends
Scrum-half Luke Gale claims Castleford Tigers' players are already looking forward to next season after their Super League Grand Final defeat.
The 29-year-old played a key role in helping Daryl Powell's men win the League Leaders' Shield for the first time in their 91-year history as they finished 10 points clear of Leeds Rhinos.
The Tigers were favourites to follow up their league dominance with success in last weekend's Grand Final against the Rhinos at Old Trafford.
It was disappointing with how it ended but, on the other hand, I'm proud of where we've come as a team.Luke Gale
However, Gale's hometown club capitalised on a sloppy display from Castleford and cruised to a 24-6 win to claim a record eighth title in the process.
Despite the disappointment, the former Harlequins and Bradford Bulls man insists the whole squad are desperate to make amends in the 2018 season.
"It was disappointing with how it ended but, on the other hand, I'm proud of where we've come as a team," Gale said.
"We just fell short at the final hurdle.
"We'll get better as a team for the experience and we're looking forward to next year already."
The Tigers are 6.00 to win Super League next year, while Leeds are 151.00 to retain their crown.
