St Helens head coach Justin Holbrook believes his side have shown they have great character as they came from behind to beat Hull FC 34-18.
Saints have extended their lead at the top of the Super League table to eight points thanks to their victory at the KCOM Stadium on Friday night but the win did not come easy.
The Airlie Birds made life difficult but ultimately braces from Ben Barba and Jonny Lomax, along with tries from Tommy Makinson, Adam Swift and Luke Thompson ensured the win.
Holbrook was delighted with the response of his side to going behind and feels they showed what character they have in the team to come back.
"It was fantastic. It was always going to be a tough game here tonight. We got our noses in front at half-time but full credit to Hull. They come out in the second half and really took it to us.
"We were good enough to turn it around in the last 20 minutes and I'm really happy with the win.
"We didn't play great in the first half but we were good enough to lead. Hull dominated that first 20 minutes of the second half. Full credit to the boys; we dug in and turned it around."
St Helens are 1213.00 to win the Grand Final this season.
