Baxter vows to keep improving
Exeter Chiefs' director of rugby Rob Baxter hopes that his side enjoy as much success in 2018 as they managed last year.
The Chiefs won the Aviva Premiership Grand Final in May 2017 and Sunday's 30-6 victory against Leicester Tigers cemented their place at the top of this season's table.
Four second-half tries helped Exeter clinch a bonus-point victory with Don Armand, Henry Slade, Jonny Hill and Jack Yeandle all touching down.
However, the result meant that the struggling Tigers have now lost six games in a row, their worst run for over 50 years.
Baxter said: "At half-time, we told the players to keep it simple but there's always a wearing-down process against good sides.
"We pushed things too much in the tough conditions in the first half and became messy as we were a little frustrated at not getting over the line.
"It's been a brilliant year for us and I don't want it to end but we have to keep moving forward. But we're not looking too far ahead so training on Tuesday for the Newcastle game is the next step."
