Cruse eyes top-four spot
Wasps hooker Tom Cruse is hoping they can boost their play-off aspirations when they entertain Gloucester at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.
After losing four games in a row, the Midlanders have refound their form and currently reside in fifth position in the table.
Dai Young's men sit just three points behind the second-placed Cherry and Whites and a victory should then move them above the West Countrymen. Wasps are 1.33 to win the match while Gloucester can be backed at 3.40 to come out on top.
Cruse said: "It's an exciting challenge leading into Christmas off the back of a good result against La Rochelle. It will be a tough one, they've got off to a good start, but hopefully being at the Ricoh again we can be on the right end of a result.
"Hopefully we can be on the right side of some results in the coming weeks and we can start looking at that top-four again."
The 28-year-old recently returned from injury to ease their hooking crisis, with Tommy Taylor also sidelined for a lengthy period.
Converted back-row Ashley Johnson has taken the reins in their absence and Cruse expects there to be plenty of competition for the shirt once Taylor returns.
"He's done a great job and hopefully Tommy will get back and the competition will get harder and harder," he added. "If you do want to win things you've got to have a good squad.
"You do pick up injuries, like we've seen all season, so it's testament to the squad that we're still there or thereabouts."
