Young tips Robson for England

Wasps coach Dai Young believes Dan Robson's form is good enough to earn him an England call-up.

The scrum-half joined the club from Gloucester ahead of the 2015-16 season and has gone on to make 81 appearances, scoring 27 tries in the process.

During that time, he has started both a Premiership semi-final and final and the 26-year-old has been particularly impressive this season, scoring 10 tries.

Robson's form has been rewarded with a new long-term contract and he can now look ahead to his side's final games of the season against Northampton and Newcastle.

It can surely only be a matter of time before his England chance comes.

Two wins will set Young's team up nicely for the play-offs and Wasps are currently 8.00 to win the Premiership, with Saracens 1.53 and Exeter 2.50.

Robson's pace and verve is sure to be a key part of their plans and having previously been part of Eddie Jones' squad, the Welsh coach believes the former England under-20s star could be heading for another call-up.

"Dan has been outstanding for us this season," Young told the club's official website. "His consistency has been really impressive, and when he is really on song he has the ability to frighten defenders.

"He has worked hard at his game over the last three years, and as a result is now one of the best scrum halves in Europe.

"At 26, there is still plenty more to come from Dan, who like a number of our other English-qualified players should be a big part of our side for the next half-a-dozen years at least.

"I am obviously biased, but if Dan continues to deliver the same level of performance for us, it can surely only be a matter of time before his England chance comes."
