Chiefs travel to take on the Jets

The Kansas City Chiefs visit the New York Jets this weekend with a slender one-game lead in the AFC West Division.

This, after losing three in a row to the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and the Buffalo Bills.

It all looked so good for Kansas City in the early going as they stormed to five consecutive victories. However the Chiefs lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City back in the middle of October and it has been generally downhill since.

Quarterback Alex Smith completed 23-of-36 for 199 yards and one touchdown while also being picked off once in the 16-10 set back to the Bills.

Smith also led the Chiefs in rushing with 35 yards with running back Kareem Hunt held to 17 yards on 11 carries. Hunt has in many ways been something of a bellwether for Kansas City rushing for over 100 yards in four victories before being completely shutdown since.

The Chiefs surprising fall has allowed the Los Angeles Chargers and the Oakland Raiders to get back into the postseason picture despite both being 5-6 on the season. The Raiders catch a break, at least on paper, when the New York Giants start Geno Smith over Eli Manning at the Oakland Coliseum while the Chargers entertain the winless Cleveland Browns in LA.

The Raiders and the Chargers both play Kansas City down the stretch with LA and Oakland meeting at the StubHub Center in Carson the final week of the regular campaign.

The Chiefs are 1213.00 to win the Super Bowl and the Chargers are priced at 1213.00.
