Eagles flying high

The Philadelphia Eagles continue their pursuit of the top seed in the NFC Conference this weekend when they host the Chicago Bears at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles have won eight in a row and last week's victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington increased their lead over the Cowboys in the NFC East Division to four games with six to play.

Quarterback Carson Wentz was a modest 14-of-27 for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the 37-9 triumph at the AT & T Stadium.

However the ground game prospered as Jay Ajayi rushed for 91 yards on 7 carries and the team as a whole rumbled for 215 yards on 33 attempts.

Philadelphia leads the NFL with an average of 32 points per game and has won every game in which they have scored more than 26 points.

The lone loss came in the second week of the season at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City when the Chiefs were victorious 27-20.

The Eagles follow their match up against the Bears with three straight games on the road as they play the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants.

Lincoln Financial Field is then the location for the final two games of the regular campaign as first the Oakland Raiders on Christmas Day and then the Cowboys, 67.00 to win the NFC East, arrive in town.

Two more wins should clinch the Division for Philadelphia and with Dallas struggling it could come sooner than that as the Eagles go in search of their first NFC East crown since 2013.

The Eagles are 4.50 to win the NFC title with the Seattle Seahawks 8.00 and the LA Rams priced at 7.50.
