Jaguars entertain the Texans
The Jacksonville Jaguars go in search of a third consecutive victory on Sunday when the Houston Texans are the visitors to EverBank Field.
Comfortable winners over the Indianapolis Colts a couple of weeks' ago, the Jaguars were pushed by the Seattle Seahawks last week before Jacksonville ran out to a 30-24 triumph.
Quarterback Blake Bortles threw for 268 yards and a couple of touchdowns completing 18-of-27 on the day while rookie running back Leonard Fournette went over 100 yards for the fifth time this campaign.
Blessed with a strong defense, the Jaguars will however live and die on the play of Bortles in the postseason.
The former UCF star is 15th in the league in passing yards, 26th in completion percentage and 22nd in yards per attempt.
Those numbers would seem to indicate that Jacksonville will be looking for a new signal caller next year with the likes of Eli Manning and Alex Smith expected to be available and with several intriguing prospects in the Draft.
The Jaguars lead the Tennessee Titans by a game in the AFC South Division with three to play in the regular season.
Sunday's game against Houston is the home finale for Jacksonville who will play the San Francisco 49ers and the Titans on the road over the next couple of weeks.
Tennessee would likely win the Division crown, based on respective records within the AFC South, should the Titans and the Jaguars finish tied atop the Division and so Jacksonville needs to keep winning as they push for the third seed in the AFC and a home game against a Wild Card winner.
The Jaguars are 1.90 conceding an 11-point spread, with Houston 5.25 to win the game.
