Ravens destroy the Dolphins
The Baltimore Ravens rolled to a 40-0 victory over the visiting Miami Dolphins on Thursday at the M & T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
This despite quarterback Joe Flacco being knocked out of the game with a concussion.
Back-up Ryan Mallett stepped in, completing a touchdown pass to Ben Watson, but it was the Baltimore defense and special teams that ultimately stepped up in the fourth quarter to score 20 points and turn a one-sided affair into a complete rout.
Flacco completed 10-of-15 for 101 yards and a score before leaving with Mallett connecting on 3-of-7 for 20 yards and the toss to Watson.
Alex Collins rushed for 113 yards on the ground and Javorius Allen added a further 55 as the Ravens evened their record to 4-4 on the campaign, two games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the loss column in the AFC North Division.
Winners of two in a row over the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals, the Steelers are in Detroit on Sunday to play the Lions at Ford Field.
Pittsburgh's bye week follows, before the Steelers are in Indianapolis to take on the Colts in Week 10 of the campaign.
The Division leaders have games remaining with the Ravens, Bengals and Cleveland Browns, along with match-ups against the Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots and Houston Texans.
On paper it's a navigable schedule, but will depend on which Pittsburgh side shows up.
The one that got the better of the Chiefs and rolled comfortably over the Ravens in Baltimore to start the month, or the one that looked terrible in defeats to the Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Steelers are 1213.00 to win the AFC Championship, with the Chiefs 1213.00 and the Ravens 1213.00.
