Ryan expecting Falcons recovery

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan remains confident that his side can recover from a slump in form and make a charge for the NFL play-offs.

Having come within an ace of winning a first-ever Super Bowl last season, the Falcons are 4-4 so far this term, leaving them down in third place in the NFC South standings behind the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers.

I think we've played mediocre, but yet I don't think we're a mediocre team.

However, Ryan is adamant that the second half of the campaign will see improvements from himself and Atlanta's much-vaunted offense.

He commented on 680 The Fan: "I think we can be better than we've played up until this point.

"I think we've played mediocre, but yet I don't think we're a mediocre team. I think we can be a very good football team.

"We've got all NFC teams left, which is a good thing for us to make some headway in the division and certainly in the conference. I remain very confident.

"I really feel like we've got a good group of guys, guys that are working hard and doing the right things during the week.

"And guys that are going to make plays for us in this next eight-game stretch. I really believe that and I hope that comes to fruition for us."

The Falcons are 5.00 to win the NFC South divisional crown and are 1213.00 to claim the NFC Conference title, with Atlanta 1213.00 to win Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis.

Next up for Ryan and co is a visit from the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday 12th November.
