Saints setting the pace in the NFC South Division
The New Orleans Saints will look to maintain their lead in the NFC South Division this weekend when they entertain the Chicago Bears at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Losers to the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots at the start of the campaign, the Saints have since got the better of the Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers to move into first place in the Division, a half game ahead of the Panthers.
Drew Brees was picked off twice on Sunday but still completed 27-of-38 for 331 yards with one touchdown in the 26-17 New Orleans win at Lambeau Field.
The Saints signal caller also rushed for a score, as did Mark Ingram who gained 105 yards on 22 carries for New Orleans.
Certainly the Saints were fortunate to face a Green Bay side without quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but injuries are part of the game and New Orleans can only play the team put out in front of them.
The Saints have six games at home remaining in the regular season against the Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Redskins, Panthers, New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons and will like their chances in all of them given the respective struggles of all six opponents.
A 10-6 season is quite within the realms of possibility and that may well be enough for New Orleans to take home the Division crown, something that would be a huge surprise given that the Falcons and the Panthers have represented the NFC in the Super Bowl the last two seasons.
The Saints are 1.44 to win the NFC South and 4.00 for the Super Bowl.
