Aussie Rules: Goodwin says more to come from Demons

Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin says they will not allow complacency to creep in when they take on two sides at the wrong end of the ladder in the next two rounds.
The Demons have won the first eight games of the season and are priced at 2.00 to go back-to-back and reach the 2022 AFL grand final.
Struggling sides
The winning running should be extended over the next two rounds as they face West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne who have just won one game apiece so far this season.
However Goodwin says neither side will be taken lightly and Melbourne will have to be on their game to make sure there are no slip ups.

“Our challenge every week is to improve and to get better and look at opportunities where we can do that. That will be no different next week against the Eagles," he told reporters.
“We live in a very, very tough industry… and we should never underestimate the challenge and respect the opposition at all times; that process won’t change for us. We treat our opposition with enormous respect.”
More to come
In a scary prospect for the rest of the competition, Goodwin says there is even more to come from his side who cruised to a 38-point win over St Kilda in their latest assignment.
“There’s a variety of different things that teams are challenging us with. The good thing is we are able to learn from it, and that’s what we do as a footy club, we learn from the situations we’re in. We look at those things as opportunities to get better and continue to round our game out,” he added.
“We’ve learnt a lot over the first eight weeks and we’ll continue to learn as the year goes on. We’ve got a lot of work to do, still.
“There’s some really good signs today that our game is heading in the right direction.”
