Hameed relishing Old Trafford return
Haseeb Hameed says he holds no bitterness towards Lancashire and he is looking forward to making his Old Trafford return when lining up for England in the fifth and final Test against India.
Chris Silverwood's men are 2-1 behind in the series heading into the Manchester finale, which starts on Friday, and they are available at 2.62 to win the Test against India, who are 3.60, with the draw at 2.50.
Notts move reignites career
Opener Hameed will be making his return to Old Trafford, where he played for Lancashire from 2015-2019 before being released after a prolonged loss of form on the county stage.
I've always said that the club holds a special place in my heart.Haseeb Hameed
The 24-year-old has managed to rebuild his career at Nottinghamshire after joining the club in 2020 and he is now back in the England team, although he endured a chastening international return with just nine runs in two innings at Lord's last month.
Back in form
Hameed has bounced back from that poor performance though, making half-centuries at Headingley and the Kia Oval, and he is excited by the prospect of continuing his fun on his former ground.
"I've always said that the club holds a special place in my heart. And I don't want the last couple of years to overshadow what I feel like has been a good relationship and a good time at the club," he told Sky Sports.
"I feel very lucky and privileged to be in this position. But I realise we've got a big game as a team and hopefully we can put on a show for them and draw level in this series (with India currently leading 2-1)."
