100 Thieves appoint new head coach
League of Legends outfit 100 Thieves have confirmed they will be parting ways with head coach Anthony "Zikz" Gray, replacing him with Bok "Reapered" Han-gyu.
Under "Zikz", who was in charge of the team from November 2019, 100 Thieves enjoyed a good start to the season this year.
They progressed all the way to the semi-final stage of the LCS Lock-In, losing to Cloud9, and began the LCS Spring Split on the front foot.
They won five of their opening six matches during the recent Split, beating the likes of Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid.
But by the playoffs they had only managed an 11-7 record in the division, finishing joint-fourth and eventually losing to Team SoloMid in the second round of the lower bracket.
And so the team have now made the call to replace "Zikz" with "Reapered", who was coach for Cloud9 between 2016 and 2020 and brings with him plenty of high-level international experience.
The 29-year-old coach's most recent success saw him guide Cloud9 to the 2020 Spring Split championship and he will work closely with the 100 Thieves players building up to the Summer Split later this year.
On Twitter, the 100 Thieves account posted: "Welcome @Reapered as our LCS Head Coach!
"A previous LCK Champion, Reapered started his coaching career in 2015 and has coached across China & NA.
"He holds an LCS Championship with 5x Worlds appearances. Excited to build our team with him as we approach Worlds this year."
Meanwhile, 100T.A are 1.28 to beat Evil Geniuses Prodigies, who are 3.50 to win, in the LOL LCS Proving Grounds Spring.
