Pabu selects eight champions in nine games
Pentanet.GG are among the sides who have qualified for the Rumble Stage in the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2021 and jungler Jackson "Pabu" Pavone has helped them on their way by playing eight champions in nine games at the event.
Pentanet.GG are 10/3 to beat PSG Talon, who are ⅕ to win, in their MSI Rumble Stage match on Friday.
Along with the LPL's Royal Never Give Up and the LEC's MAD Lions, the Oceanic outfit finished with the most kills in the group stage of the MSI, despite only scraping through in Group A.
Royal Never Give Up were the main force in their section, winning all eight of their group matches, and Pentanet.GG had to win a tiebreaker clash with Unicorns of Love after both sides finished the stage with a 2-6 record.
And among their players to keep an eye on as the event now moves into the Rumble Stage is jungler "Pabu", who has taken plenty of liberties with the expanded meta following Patch 11.9 in the game.
In the nine matches he has played at the MSI 2021, "Pabu" has selected Fiddlesticks, Graves, Karthus, Kindred, Morgana, Nidalee, Rumble, and Volibear, meaning he has played more champions than any other player at the current event.
The only one "Pabu" picked twice during the group stage was Nidalee, who gave him one win and one defeat in the two games selected.
It is not unusual behaviour from "Pabu", who played 11 different champions during the LCO Spring Split and only three of them have been picked in the MSI.
Pentanet.GG will be hoping to continue defying expectations in the LOL MSI on Friday when they get under way in the Rumble Stage section of the competition.
