Gnabry issues Muller backing

Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry claims it's wrong to speculate around the future of club legend Thomas Muller.

Having found himself down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena under manager Niko Kovac, there have been suggestions Muller could look to move away from the Bavarian giants in the January transfer window.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for the experienced attacker in the past but Gnabry feels the media should not be speculating about the player's future after all he has done for Bayern Munich.

"Normally I shouldn't say anything about it," Gnabry said on Friday. "But when a player has been with one club since his childhood, then a Bayern Munich without Thomas Muller is difficult to imagine.

"It is easy to relate with every player who does not play and who is angry about that. This is normal. You don't have to make the whole thing bigger than it is.

"Thomas has got his qualities and has won everything. You have to have respect for him and must not ask stupid questions or spread negative news about him."

Bayern are 1.53 to win the Champions League this season.
