The fit-again Diogo Jota could make his first Liverpool appearance in three months when Chelsea are the visitors to Anfield on Thursday evening.

Jota, a £40million signing from Wolves in September, has been out with a knee injury since the Champions League clash with FC Midtjylland on 9th December.

Diogo had a little stomach problem. We got the message that he feels better.

Jurgen Klopp

Klopp had hoped to have the forward available for the trip to Sheffield United last Sunday only for the player to be struck down with illness.

But Reds boss Jurgen Klopp believes the Portuguese ace, who has scored five goals in nine Premier League appearances since leaving Molineux, will be well enough to make the squad against Thomas Tuchel's in-form Blues.

And Klopp, whose pre-match updates this season have usually been a story of who's not available rather than who is, with the club lurching from one injury crisis to another, also expects both Alisson and Fabinho to start against Chelsea.

Goalkeeper Alisson missed the 2-0 win at Sheffield United following the death of his father, while Fabinho has been out of action since last month's 4-1 humbling by Manchester City.

Fabinho's return gives Klopp options in both midfield and defence where he has appeared as a makeshift centre-back this season.

"It gives us options in different moments," Klopp told reporters ahead of the game. "I think if we can find a way to bring Fab back in midfield that would be, in some games, quite helpful.

"Diogo had a little stomach problem. We got the message that he feels better."

Liverpool, who have lost their last four home Premier League games and not won at Anfield since before Christmas, are 2.15 to beat Chelsea, who are available at 3.25.
