Minamino focused on Saints finish
Takumi Minamino insists he is fully focused on helping Southampton finish as high as possible in his remaining months at the club and revealed getting game time at St Mary's has helped his confidence.
Japanese midfielder Minamino joined Liverpool from Salzburg for £7.25million at the start of 2020 and made 14 appearances for the Reds across all competitions last term.
But the 26-year-old struggled for regular game time at Anfield and was sent out on loan to Southampton in February this year, having since impressed on the south coast with two goals in six games.
Minamino has seen his Saints side struggle in the Premier League of late but watched from the bench in a 3-2 win over Burnley at the weekend and is hoping he can help the club push for a top-half finish in the Premier League this term.
Speaking to the club's official website, Minamino said: "For a football player, playing is the most important thing.
"Playing more is helping me to get more confidence back as a player. I want to play more; the more I am helping the team and contributing to wins, the more my confidence will grow.
"I only have a few months left to help the team but I want to work hard and use my full abilities to make sure the team do well and climb up the league as much as possible."
Meanwhile, Southampton are 2.00 to beat West Brom, who are 3.60 to win with the draw 3.60 in the Premier League.
