Nuno backs "important" Traore to step up
Nuno Espirito Santo believes Wolves forward Adama Traore can play a big role in helping the club to enjoy a strong finish to the season.
Wolves earned back-to-back seventh-placed finishes in the Premier League after returning to the top-flight in 2018-19.
But they have fallen well below the high standards set in each of those campaigns this time around and face a battle to claim a top-10 spot.
Ahead of Saturday's home clash with Sheffield United, Wolves sit 12th and are seven points shy of Leeds in 10th with just seven games left to play.
Traore's lack of consistency has been one of several reasons Wolves have struggled to pick up results in 2020-21.
The Spain international scored six and provided 12 assists across all competitions last term but he's only bagged twice and laid on a further two assists this time around.
He has shown signs of improvement this month, assisting in the loss to West Ham and scoring in the victory over Fulham and Nuno has backed his man to maintain that form.
"Adama has always been very important to us, in all the moments since he joined Wolves," said Nuno.
"He's a very important player. Sometimes starting, sometimes playing good – but he's always important because he's very special. A unique player.
"It's always like that. We cannot say it's for sure because you never know.
"You're always reacting, adjusting and improving. We do this work with all the players."
Wolves can be backed at 1.72 to beat Sheffield United and Traore is 3.75 to score at anytime.
