Ange Postecoglou will be without Kyogo Furuhashi for up to four weeks

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed summer signing Kyogo Furuhashi is set to be out for "three to four weeks" with a knee injury.

Postecoglou's side are 2.75 to win the Scottish Premiership this season, while Furuhashi is 3.75 to be top scorer in the division.

We just have to get on with it

The Japanese forward has scored seven times in nine appearances in all competitions for Celtic so far this season after his summer move from Vissel Kobe.

The 26-year-old picked up the knee injury during Japan's game against China and, after Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths departed Celtic in the last few days of the transfer window, the Bhoys' striking options now look limited.

New signing Giorgos Giakoumakis is not ready for first team action yet so Postecoglou may have to turn to Albian Ajeti for his side's game against Ross County on Saturday.

Postecoglou gave an update on Furuhashi at his pre-match press conference, saying: "We have got him back and the initial assessment is we are looking at least three to four weeks at this stage which means he will miss the next few games but at the same time, he is pretty optimistic about working hard to get back so we will just have to wait and see.

'Disappointing'

"It is disappointing, it is disappointing for him because he has obviously had a great start to his Celtic career and it is one of those things.

"We obviously wanted to keep it going and obviously help us as well but we understand it is part of football and these things will happen and we just have to get on with it."
