Gerrard keen to keep Kamara at Ibrox
Steven Gerrard has urged Rangers to persuade Glen Kamara to sign a new contract to prevent rival clubs swooping for the talented Finn.
Kamara was outstanding as the Glasgow giants wrapped up their Europa League campaign with a routine 2-0 win at Lech Poznan in Poland on Thursday night.
The victory rounded off an unbeaten group campaign and continued Rangers' sensational start to the season.
Kamara has won plenty of plaudits for his performances for his club and also for Finland, starring in their qualification for next summer's European Championship - their first-ever major finals.
The former Arsenal youngster signed a four-and-a-half year deal when he moved to Glasgow from Dundee in January 2019 and Gerrard wants the Ibrox directors to act fast to tie him down to a new deal.
"Glen Kamara showed again why everybody is talking about him and there's a lot of fuss about him," the Rangers boss told reporters after the win in Poznan.
"I thought he was outstanding from start to finish and my advice to the club is to move the situation along as quickly as possible."
Rangers were unbeaten across their six games in Group D, with the Glasgow side winning four games and drawing the other two against group runners-up Benfica, who they led against in both meetings.
Gerrard's side are unbeaten in 26 matches, will be seeded in Monday's draw for the last 32 and the former Liverpool skipper insists he fears no=one.
"We will be a challenge for whoever we face," he said.
Rangers are 12122.00 to win the Europa League.
