Sungjae Im impresses in Vegas

Sungjae Im was delighted to claim his second success on the PGA Tour as he eased to a win at the Shriners Children's Open.

Im shines in Vegas

The South Korean went into the final round three shots behind leader Adam Schenk but showed his intentions when he birdied four of the opening seven holes.

He then posted birdies on each hole between the ninth and 13th and there was a chance that he would be able to break 60.

However, he pared each of the final five holes to come in with a 62, which was enough to see off Matthew Wolff by a four-shot margin.

Im had demonstrated his liking for the Las Vegas track by carding rounds of 63 and 65 before the weekend, which gave him a share of lead with Chad Ramey.

A Saturday 70 saw him fall off the top of the leaderboard but the 23-year-old prevailed in Sunday’s calmer conditions.

Im delighted with second title

His previous Tour success was a one-shot victory at the Honda Classic in 2019.

He said: "There was no wind compared to round three and that made it easier.

"Tee-to-green, driver, irons, putting game, it worked as I wanted to and it gave me a good result.

"I know I won my first win on my 50th start and to win my second PGA Tour win on my 100th start, that in itself is a pretty amazing stat."
