Wolff backs Mercedes to rise to 2021 challenge
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has confidence in their ability to step up once again in 2021 after unveiling their W12 car.
Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas combined to deliver a seventh successive Constructors' Championship in 2020, while the former also won his record-equalling seventh world title.
Hamilton recently signed a new contract with Mercedes, which runs until the end of the campaign, and he will look to deliver further glory for the team alongside his Finnish team-mate.
Ahead of pre-season testing between 12th and 14th March in Bahrain, the Silver Arrows unveiled their new W12 car on Tuesday and Wolff has laid out their intentions for the campaign.
"Every year we reset our focus and define the right objectives," Wolff said.
"That may sound simple but it's damn hard and is probably why there are no sports teams out there with seven consecutive titles. So many things can happen and it's very natural to get used to success, and therefore not fight as hard for it.
"But this team has not shown any of that. I see the same fire, hunger and passion now as I did the first time I walked through the doors in 2013. Every season is a new challenge and therefore, a new goal for us to achieve."
The 2021 season gets underway on 26th March with the opening event coming from the Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir.
