Fituese is three from three first-up and trainer John Thompson is looking to maintain that record when she goes to the races for the first time since October in the Listed Ortensia Stakes over 1100 metres at Rosehill.

The four-year-old won the Listed Denise's Joy Stakes over the course and distance at the corresponding meeting last year and is consequently a 2.80 chance to win Saturday's race.

"She chipped her knee in her last run at Flemington on a hard track," Thompson revealed. "It was the one bad run she's had but she's had the chip out and she's 100 per cent and going well. She could easily win again, she looks good and I'm happy with her."

Fituese has won six of her 11 starts and Thompson said this will likely be a brief preparation with spring targets in mind.

The mare has had one trial in a 737-metre heat at Randwick on 3rd May under race day pilot Rachel King.

"Rachel has ridden her a couple of times in her work and in the trial and says she feels great," Thompson continued. "Her trial was good the other day and I think she's a nice mare, one of those mares who gives you 100 per cent each time she races.

"She's foolproof, she can go forward or back. She could easily go to a higher level, she's a good mare and she's got the talent. She's just got to get back and get racing again."
