Thompson confident with Fituese
Trainer John Thompson is confident his smart mare Fituese can atone for a last-start defeat when she steps out in the Listed Bob Charley AO Stakes over 1100 metres at Randwick.
The speedy four-year-old is a 4.00 chance for the seventh contest on Randwick's nine-race card, with Ballistic Love available at 4.60 and Wandabaa at 6.00 in the 12-runner field.

A missed barrier trial before her last race proved to be more crucial than Thompson had hoped, when Fituese over-raced from her outside draw and then blew up to finish fifth when first-up in the Listed Ortensia Stakes over 1100 metres.
"I ran out of time to give her a second trial, so she went into it off one trial. I did want her ridden a bit quieter, but she just raced a bit fresh three-deep outside the leaders and she just got tired basically,” said Thompson.
"So I didn't run her again, I trialled her. We rode her a bit quieter and she trialled super. She will be ridden a bit quieter on Saturday and I reckon you'll see a different horse."
Rachel King has ridden Fituese in nine of her 12 starts and is the only jockey to have won on her, but Brenton Avdulla will partner the mare for the first time with King in Brisbane for the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap meeting.
"It will be interesting to see how she goes for Brenton, he's her new rider because Rachel is in Queensland," Thompson continued.
"She just needs a bit of luck from the draw (eight) on Saturday, she is going super."
