Mullins predicts greatness for Flooring Porter
Winning jockey Danny Mullins says he rode a "very good horse" after winning the Stayers' Hurdle on Flooring Porter on day three of the Cheltenham Festival.
It was Mullins who picked up the horse on Thursday morning at Prestbury Park after fellow rider Jonathan Moore was forced to pull out of the race due to concerns over his fitness.
Flooring Porter, who is available at 11.00 to retain his Stayers' Hurdle crown in 2022, led from the front in the feature race of the day and never really looked back.
Mullins was full of praise for the help he received from Moore before the race, and feels Flooring Porter has the quality to go on to great things.
Speaking to ITV Racing, Mullins said: "He is a proper good horse. But this is the man you need to speak to, he lost the ride this morning, gave me every bit of information about the horse. He's the man who did all the work. He's the man you need to congratulate.
"It is fantastic to win a grade one, I rode a very good horse today, I just had to steer this one. It is special."
Sire Du Berlais was forced to settle for second, while the pre-race favourite Paisley Park, who attracted plenty of admirers before the off, finished in third spot.
