Horse Racing: Thomas ready to cause an upset
Sam Thomas is confident that his rising star Good Risk At All can cause a major upset and beat hotpot Jonbon at Newbury on Friday ahead of loftier targets later this season.
Good Risk At All can be backed at 3.00 to win the "National Hunt" Maiden Hurdle at 13:15, with Jonbon available at 1.90 and Boombawn is priced at 6.00.
Chepstow setback a shock
The five-year-old was a classy bumper horse and enjoyed Pattern success at this track in a red-hot Listed contest, in which he beat subsequent Grade 2 winner I Like To Move It by two and a quarter lengths.
However, Good Risk At All suffered a shock comprehensive reverse on his hurdles debut at Chepstow earlier this month, but his trainer is expecting a bolder show from his representative this time at the Berkshire track.

His rivals include the highly-regarded Jonbon, who is unbeaten in two starts and is a full-brother to the former Willie Mullins-trained star Douvan, as well as the Dan Skelton-trained Boombawn.
The Nicky Henderson-trained Jonbon will be ridden for the first time by Aidan Coleman after Nico de Boinville suffered an injury schooling on Thursday.
Thomas remains confident
Thomas said: "He was green first time out and would have learned so much, so we're hoping he steps up, but he was beaten first time out in a bumper when we thought a lot of him.
"His form's rock-solid and maybe he's the type who just takes a run to sharpen up."
He added: "He's a lovely horse and we've form around Newbury. If we beat Jonbon we're back on track and the sky's the limit - if we get beaten by him, we'll take it from there.
"Win, lose or draw, we've a very nice horse and we'll have lots of fun with him."
