NRL: Mahoney heads to Bulldogs
Parramatta have been rocked by the news Reed Mahoney will leave at the end of 2022 after agreeing a bumper four-year deal with the Canterbury Bulldogs.
The Eels are priced at 13.00 to win the 2022 NRL grand final and it will be Mahoney's last season at the club after he opted to take up the offer from the Bulldogs.
Too good to turn down
Parramatta were more than keen to keep hold of their star hooker and offered him a three-year deal to stay, but it was trumped by the Bulldogs.
Reports claim Trent Barrett's men have offered him a four-year deal from the start of 2023 that is worth $650,000 and clearly too good to turn down.

The news is another blow for the Eels. They have managed to secure the futures of Clint Gutherson and Mitchell Moses but have lost key players as well.
Isaiah Papali'i and Marata Niukore will also join the Wests Tigers and New Zealand Warriors respectively from the start of 2023.
The Bulldogs meanwhile continue to splash the cash after it was revealed that Penrith Panthers star Viliame Kikau is also joining from the start of 2023.
That deal is said to be worth $800,000 a year and comes as the likes of Josh Addo-Carr, Matt Burton, Tevita Pangai Jr, Matt Dufty and Paul Vaughan all joined for 2022.
However the Bulldogs have revealed they will be promoting at least five youngsters to their roster for 2023 so they will comply with the salary cap.
