Moses keen to extend Eels stay
Parramatta halfback Mitch Moses would like to extend his time with the Eels but is leaving talks over a new contract to his management team.
The 26-year-old is off-contract at the end of the season but there is the option within his current deal to extend it into the 2022 campaign.
But he has three weeks to activate that clause or go to the open market and earn a lucrative deal elsewhere.
With playmakers in demand at the moment, Moses is unlikely to be short of offers, with the Broncos already heavily linked, but he says he would prefer to stay with the Eels if the right contract can be agreed.
"I've left it fully up to (management) and I'm sure they'll make the right decision by me and they'll let me know when the right contract is ready to go and ready to sign," he said.
"I'd love to stay at the Eels, that's my main thing, I've made that clear to them but that's up to them now if they want to keep me or if my management will sort it all out."
Moses has certainly shown his commitment to the Eels cause and was seen putting in plenty of extra training in pre-season to make sure he was ready for the new campaign.
"Wherever I can get better in my footy I was open to and you've got to change it up every year, you can't keep doing the same things and getting away with it," he added.
"Wherever I can better myself in football and outside in life, I was trying.
"The game has changed so much, you have to be a lot fitter, you have to be on the ball so much and you can't miss your opportunities."
The Eels are priced at 8.00 to win the NRL grand final.
