Titans handed Fogarty boost
Gold Coast Titans are hopeful of having co-captain Jamal Fogarty fit and available for their clash with Newcastle Knights on Saturday.
The halfback has been a concern for the Titans ever since he suffered a corked thigh in the 20-4 loss against the Raiders last Saturday.
The fact that fellow half Ash Taylor is still on the sidelines with a fractured hand means the Titans would have a problem if Fogarty was to miss out.
Youngster Tanah Boyd would again have to fill the void, just like he did against the Raiders, but it seems as though Fogarty will make it.
Fullback AJ Brimson has been speaking out ahead of the game and believes Fogarty will be good to go.
"I think it's healed pretty well. I'm not an expert on corks but he's walking around fine and he's in the pool doing all the recovery he can," Brimson said.
"We're all expecting him to play this week and he's a professional so he'll do whatever he can to get his body right."
The Titans are 2-2 heading into the game against the Knights and they will also be boosted by the return of star centre Brian Kelly.
"He won our player of the year last year. It's a big confidence boost him coming back into the side," Brimson added.
"I also love playing with Brian because he always offloads and puts me away. Hopefully he can give me a couple of those this weekend."
The Knights have been handed a huge boost of their own, with star fullback Kalyn Ponga set to return.
The Titans are priced at 26.00 to win the NRL grand final.
Gold Coast are 1.30 to beat Newcastle.
