Clippers spirit pleases Leonard
Kawhi Leonard felt Los Angeles Clippers showed "character" by fighting back from a 2-0 deficit to claim a 4-3 first round series win over Dallas Mavericks.
Los Angeles Clippers are 8.00 to win the NBA Championship outright.
The Clippers fell two games behind after opening the series with two defeats at the Staples Center.
The Clippers won Games 3 and 4 in Dallas, but the Mavs again won in LA to lead the series 3-2.
The LA outfit managed to tie the series in Dallas and then picked up a first home win of the postseason on Sunday as they secured a 126-111 victory.
Mavs star Luka Doncic led the scoring with 46 points, but the Clippers prevailed as Leonard just missed out on a triple-double as he scored 28 points with 10 rebounds and nine assists, while Marcus Morris Sr scored 23 points and Paul George had 22 points and 10 assists.
The Clippers became just the sixth team in the history of the NBA to win a playoff series after losing the first two games at home, and Leonard feels that should provide his team with a huge confidence boost ahead of their Conference Semifinals series with top seeds Utah Jazz.
He told ESPN: "I'm glad that we showed character, showed poise when we went down 0-2 and then coming back on the road in Game 3, that meant a lot to me...and now we have to see what we can do to raise our chances of winning this next round."
The Clippers head to Utah for Game 1 of their series on Tuesday.
