Crows to make late call on Tex
Adelaide Crows coach Matthew Nicks says he will make a late call on whether Taylor Walker will face Carlton on Sunday afternoon.
Walker has been nursing a sore ankle since Wednesday's surprise win over GWS and Nicks says he has a chance of making the side that takes on the Blues.
However, the five-day turnaround is making it more complicated and Nicks says he will leave a decision until the last possible moment.
"At the moment you're looking at 50-50 with Tex," he said. "Again, it's a five-day break, it's travel, but I'd like to think he gets up because he's been important to us over the last month, just from an on-field leadership (perspective), his contest in the air, I think he's in some good form. That'll be a last-minute decision."
However Nicks has made an early decision on Daniel Talia and says the key defender will miss out with a troublesome knee problem.
"Last time we travelled, we learned a fair bit, especially with 'Tarls', around the flights at 4am, 4.30am in the morning," Nicks added.
"It's quite a challenge so we looked at this a fair way out and made a decision that look, it's a possibility, he'll prepare now for a 10-day break, similar to what we've done previously."
There is better news regards Tom Lynch, who is back available following a hamstring injury.
The Crows are in good form following wins over Hawthorn and the Giants and will be hoping to keep it going on Sunday afternoon.
The Crows are priced at 5/2 to beat Carlton, who are 1/3.
