Dockers coy on Hogan future
Fremantle forward Jesse Hogan is facing an uncertain future with the Dockers after chairman Dale Alcock revealed talks are on-going with his management.
Hopes were high among the Dockers faithful when Hogan arrived in Perth from Melbourne Demons in 2018, but the move has not worked out as planned.
The 25-year-old has not been helped by injuries and other unsettling issues and has managed just 19 games for the Dockers.
It now remains to be seen whether he will add to that as coach Justin Longmuir looks to build on what was an encouraging 2020 for the Dockers.
Alcock was quizzed about the player's situation during an interview with local radio, and was tightlipped to say the least.
However reading between the lines, it would come as no surprise if all parties were working towards a move away from Fremantle and a fresh start for the player.
"Jesse’s currently on leave and we’re going to take some time to work carefully through that and work and liaise with Jesse, his management and the club," he told ABC Radio in Perth. "That’s our position on that."
Hogan is under contract until the end of 2021, and when pushed over whether he would see the deal out, Alcock would give nothing away.
"We’re not going to react to it (his contract) immediately," he added. "The football department have picked that up and our senior people will pick that up with him and his management in due course."
Richmond Tigers are priced at 9/10 to beat Geelong in the grand final.
