West Coast found a higher level in the second half of their 30-point derby success against Fremantle.

It's now 10 wins in a row for the Eagles against their big rivals, this latest victory being marked by a derby first.

Adam Simpson's team held the Dockers scoreless for a quarter while they kicked 2.3 in the third term to build up a 30-goal cushion at three-quarter time.

Josh Kennedy was able to mark his 250th game not just with a win but also the Glendinning-Allan Medal as best on ground.

Kennedy kicked four goals in the 9.8 (62) to 5.2 (32) success at Optus Stadium - the Eagles' fourth win of the year.

The victory was earned off the back of brilliant efforts in defence from Brad Sheppard and Jackson Nelson, who had 23 disposals each, along with Liam Duggan (19 disposals).

Elliot Yeo and Tim Kelly both racked up six tackles for West Coast, as they applied plenty of pressure around the ball.

Fremantle, who had been bidding for a third win in a row, saw young wingman Michael Frederick catch the eye with his work rate early in his debut game. The 20-year-old showed off his blistering pace in the second term and recorded his first career goal.

Simpson is happy to have banked three straight wins, but knows his team will have to step up a notch ahead of next week's massive clash against Collingwood.

"Whether we're back on track or we're in a space that's going to compete with teams like Collingwood and Geelong we'll find out," he said. "The next two or three weeks are really going to define everyone's season; we'll probably have to step up another level to knock off the Pies next week."

Skipper Luke Shuey is certain to return from his hamstring injury against the Magpies, after the Eagles erred on the side of caution in withdrawing him before the derby.

West Coast are 11/1 to win the Grand Final.

The Eagles are 5/6 to win their next game against Collingwood, who are 51/50.
