Port complete last minute Fantasia trade
Port Adelaide beat the deadline by minutes to snap up small forward Orazio Fantasia from Essendon.
Fantasia first requested a move to South Australia 12 months ago but was told by the Bombers he would be staying put.
However he has now got his wish with a trade to the Power going through late.
The deal is said to have been concluded in the last 15 minutes of the Trade Period with the Bombers agreeing to take a second-round selection, currently pick No.29, and a future third-round selection.
Port get Fantasia and pick No.73 in return and they could not be happier with the trade, believing Fantasia has a huge role to play going forward.
Fantasia played 80 games for the Bombers, kicking 111 goals in the process and Port's football manager Chris Davies said Fantasia will add more quality to the Port ranks.
"We know his speed, skill and goal sense will add to our forward mix, and his availability in the front half will allow us to give more midfield minutes to some of our younger players like Zak Butters and Connor Rozee," Davies said.
"He has had some injury issues in recent years, but we back our medical and high-performance teams to get him back to full fitness and playing some strong, Port Adelaide football over the coming years."
It completed a busy few days for the Power, who landed both their top targets after also completing a trade for Aliir Aliir, who arrived from the Sydney Swans.
