Kim Barnett says he is excited by what the future holds for Derbyshire after extending his agreement to act as the club's cricket advisor for another year.

Ex-England batsman Barnett returned to Derbyshire 12 months ago and altered the coaching structure, including the introduction of county cricket's first ever specialist Twenty20 coach - former New Zealand and India coach John Wright.

He also empowered County Championship captain Billy Godleman and identified Ireland international Gary Wilson to lead in the NatWest Blast.

We will continue to ensure the right people and resources are in place to allow the players to prepare efficiently and go out and perform.

"We are building a balanced squad which contains the talent and experience needed to be successful across all forms and I'm excited by what the future may bring," said Barnett.

"We will continue to ensure the right people and resources are in place to allow the players to prepare efficiently and go out and perform.

"I still see my role as primarily off the field, providing direction and strategy to help Billy, Gary and the players be successful on the field.

"We have a great leader and very strong character in Billy. He leads from the front and has the respect of the players. I will continue to provide support as work continues to bring success to the county."

Meanwhile, England are 2.00 to win the third Test against West Indies, while the tourists are priced at 2.00 and the draw is 2.00.
